Professor Yuen is a very strict teacher but makes it possible to pass his class. Homework is not graded, but you have to do it to understand and pass the class. He has students work out problems in lecture on the spot to check understanding. Do the study guides. Offers a few extra credit opportunities. Find another teacher if possible.

His way of teaching is not suitable for everyone, He expects you to know all the material learned from the previous math courses. Lost of homework using textbook which don't even have proper examples of the questions. Worst mistake of taking him. Avoid this professor at any cost.

Please don't take his class if it's your last option. I did that mistake. His teaching style is ridiculous. He bases off from "knowledge we're supposed to have from highschool". The only grades you're going to get is from tests and quizzes, which he grades harshly. He can be a genuine teacher at times, but I wish I dropped this class sooner.

Mr. yuen is a very genuine professor. His expectations are clear and he is always ready to answer any question you have. Beware though he does not allow cell phone during his class. In addition to that his office hours are also very flexible. I personally found it very helpful to go over things during office hours. we had quizzes every friday.

He's a really nice guy and wants everybody to pass. The students are the one's who don't try and end up dropping because the class wasn't handed to them. Just like anything else in life, you have to work for it if you want an A. If you have a question he'll help you out and explain it to you. You don't need to buy the book you could just rent it.

Beyond any doubt, the worst teacher I have had at COD thus far. Even though I took his class last year, It still haunts my mind. His teaching style was a joke. If you're having trouble with something like a past concept, he would refuse to explain it. I went to the math lab nearly everyday but if did nothing. I dropped it for a good reason.

DO NOT SKIP. I did and I ended up dropping because its so easy to fall behind. My fault. He tries to be helpful and he really wants you to practice but he doesn't understand that math is not easy for a lot of students. If you are not good at math i do not recommend him. He doesn't wear his glasses so he can't see what he writes half the time.

ZERO tolerance for slackers. If you're not invested in getting an A, you won't pass. Tests are tough, but the class is always fair. What's expected of you is clearly laid out, and all required material is covered. Homework and attendance aren't for credit, but if you choose to skip on them too much it will bite you in the end.

Worst teacher I have had at COD thus far. I am not very good at math so I knew it would be a challenge, I went to math help everyday and did practice problems and still did not do well on tests and quizzes. He does not curve anything (even if the entire class fails) and there is no extra credit points. He is very condescending and not helpful.

I really enjoyed Prof. Yuen i had him for my first semester at COD and i think he was so helpful and a great guy. If you reach out to him he will do just about anything to help I had him for 0481 so i feel like a lot of students don''t take it seriously which is frustrating. We had a test or quiz every friday.

I took the 8 week business calculus class over the Summer. Whether it is the curriculum or the teacher I don't know, but getting an A will be difficult. For reference I got a high B's in HS, and a low B in my college precalc course. This course was a struggle to get a D+. OK teacher, but he will often need to corrected when he is teaching the class.

Professor Yuen expects a lot from his students. He gave me everything I needed to be set up for precalculus without a problem. I originally had 30 students in this class and it dropped to 7 but thats because no one was putting any time or effort into his class. 0482 is suppose to be more like a high school class, but he treated it like college.

I've taken Mr. Yuen for Algebra I this semester, and I didn't do as well as I hoped test one, so I met him out of class to ask for help, and after I asked a question, he refused to show me how to solve the problem and said "you should have learned this already. I am not going to explain this." He is very condescending and very hard to work with.

Mr. Yuen receives a lot of complaints about his class. In reality, he is a tough teacher. He expects you to study hard and get help when needed, which is exactly what you should be doing as a college student. He pushes you to work hard because he WANTS you to succeed! Yuen is always willing to help you as long as you put in effort.

I enjoyed this class. Prof Yeun's expectations were clear. If you did the homework, studied the text, and got help when necessary, your grade would have been an A or B. When I found chapters challenging,I went to get help during his office hours, and I utilized the tutors in the math lab. I appreciate the high expectations he has for his students.

Absolutely the worst teacher I have ever had. Expects you to know the material before he even teaches it. Works through problems during class and comes up with the wrong answer several times, and students have to correct him, but he expects every student to have the right answer. Will laugh at you if you have the wrong answer. Avoid this teacher!!!

We started off with 30 students and it dropped down to 15. Even then everyone was failing. We would get happy if we got a C on his quizzes or exams. On one exam he marked my answer wrong even though I got it right. I asked him about it and he said that it was right when he first graded it. Basically, he implied that I cheated. I regret taking him!

At first he seems like a decent teacher but after the quizzes and tests you see how horrible of a teacher he is. He puts unnecessary lengthy tough questions on the exams and way too many questions for the time limit. His grading is ridiculous. He marks you wrong for the right answer just because you didnt show your work the way he wanted you to.
