Texas City PD Crime suppression unit recovers drugs and guns (2)

TEXAS CITY, Texas — A traffic stop by the Texas City Police Department's Crime Suppression Unit (CSU) led to the arrest of a local man and the recovery of drugs and firearms.

Demetrius Santana, a 25-year-old resident, was arrested in the 8000 block of Silver Oak Drive for Unlawful Possession of Firearm by Felon, Theft of Firearm, and Possession of Marijuana greater than 4 ounces but less than 5 pounds. During the stop, officers recovered 2 pounds of marijuana, a handgun, and an AR-15 rifle reported stolen in Galveston. Santana is currently held in the Galveston County Jail on bonds totaling $90,000.
